Five Things to Know About Idris Elba
On Sunday night, Idris Elba walked away with a Golden Globe – and even more female admirers.
Elba, 39, won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie for Luther, a BBC series about a troubled detective.
He's already been named one of PEOPLE's sexiest men of the year, but after picking up a trophy at the Globes, we have a feeling he's only going to get hotter. Get to know more about the London-born actor:
1. He's not a bad guy, he just plays one on TV
Elba is perhaps best known for the role of drug kingpin Stringer Bell on HBO's The Wire. Playing a ruthless figure made him popular with both women and men, resulting in what Elba referred to as "Stringer mania."
"Bad guys are attractive to women period, and most are not afraid to admit that," Elba told PEOPLE. "Guys respond to his stealth, his ruthlessness, and the way the man calculates every situation."
2. He's a softie when it comes to his daughter
While he may have a knack for playing tough guys, he's anything but around his little girl, Isan. He and ex-wife Dormowa Sherma welcomed their daughter in 2002. Isan lives in Atlanta, so Elba splits his time between that city and his native Britain.
"My daughter brings me lots of joy, seeing her grow and relate to me and learn – that is a lot of joy, man," Elba told PEOPLE. "She gets me very emotional and happy, my little momma."
Peter Dinklage's Globes Speech: Who is Martin Henderson?
Peter Dinklage gave a fairly standard acceptance after receiving the Golden Globe for Best Supporting TV Actor on Sunday. But it was his mention of "a gentleman in England I'm thinking about, Martin Henderson" that left people scratching their heads.
Instead of elaborating, the actor told the audience to "Google him" and within minutes Henderson's name was trending on Twitter.
Turns out, Henderson is a fellow dwarf and aspiring actor, who was badly injured after a stranger picked him up and threw him in England last October. He has not been able to walk properly since the incident.
Henderson believes the attack was inspired by English rugby team players, who attended a dwarf-tossing contest during the rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Thanks to the shout-out from the Game of Thrones Golden Globe winner – who like, Henderson suffer from achondroplasia, which causes dwarfirsm – these sort of attacks have been brought to light.
William & Kate: New Dog in the Family?
Is there a new addition to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's household?
That appears to be the case, as the couple take a romantic stroll in North Wales just a few days after Kate turned 30.
At their countryside surroundings, the two snuggled as they walked along the edge of the sea with a new, four-legged friend trotting with them along the damp sand.
Kasey Kahl Arrested for Drunk and Disorderly Conduct
What started as innocent fun with friends turned into an arrest for reality star Kasey Kahl – and one heck of a mug shot.
The former Bachelor Pad and Bachelorette star, 27 – who is also the ex-boyfriend of Vienna Girardi – was taken into custody at 2:47 a.m. Sunday at Club Habanos in Fresno, Calif., authorities tell E! Online.
Kahl was booked on a drunk-and-disorderly-conduct charge, and released around 8:30 a.m.
His rep Richard Harlow tells PEOPLE Kahl is "shaken by the circumstances," but also "a bit confused as to what happened."
"Kasey and his friends were hanging out outside of the club where police officers allegedly thought they were being too loud," Harlow says. "Kasey, along with a couple friends, were taken to the police station, but were released a couple hours later. No charges were or have been filed against him."
Golden Globe Winner Matt LeBlanc Reveals His Lucky Charm
Hopefully Matt LeBlanc knows of a good dry-cleaning service.
Showtime's Episodes star, 44, who won a Golden Globe for best lead actor in a TV musical or comedy on Sunday, says he owes it all to the Otto suit he donned at the awards show.
"This is the winning tuxedo," LeBlanc told PEOPLE at the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes afterparty. "This is the lucky one."
LeBlanc said he owns "five or six" tuxedos altogether, and explained that he was shocked when he won.
Jessica Biel Goes Sans Engagement Ring at Golden Globes
Perhaps it didn't look right next to all her other bling?
Jessica Biel was highly bejeweled at Sunday's Golden Globes, but one notable adornment was missing – her engagement ring from fiancé Justin Timberlake.
The actress, 29, was sporting a load of Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a stitches diamond ring in platinum and 18-karat yellow gold (designed by Jean Schlumberger, worth $25,000), as well as five diamond metro band rings set in 18-karat yellow gold (worth $1,900 each).
But her left ring finger was bare, with no sign of the custom-designed ring that Timberlake, 30, reportedly proposed with in Montana.
Beyoncé Is Already a Wonderful Mom, Destiny's Child Pals Say
Beyoncé just brought baby Blue Ivy Carter home from the hospital but motherhood, according to her former Destiny's Child bandmates, is as natural for the pop star as dancing in stilettos and a leotard.
"She's doing fabulous," Michelle Williams told PEOPLE on the red carpet at the taping of the 2012 BET Honors in Washington, D.C., on Saturday
"She was born to be a mother," Kelly Rowland added at the show, which will air Feb. 13. She's wonderful."
According to Williams, Beyoncé has what it takes to be a great mother to baby Blue. "She has such compassion for people and humanity, period," she said.
